1. Error Code E0

Error code E0 on Fogatti RV Tankless Water Heater indicates the outlet water temperature probe gets electrically shorted. It means you need to replace this component to reset the fault code. 

To replace the water outlet temperature probe, follow these guidelines step-by-step: 

• Ensure you turn off the power to your water heater. 
• Open the access panel and cut the tie wrap that binds wires. 
• Unplug the wire terminal of the water outlet temperature probe. 
• Loosen the water outlet temperature probe using a wrench or pliers and remove the component. Don’t forget to remove the seal on the water outlet temperature probe. 
• Install the new (qualified) water outlet temperature probe and tighten it up. 

2. Error Code E1

3. Error Code E2

The flashing code E2 means a false flame signal. Before ignition, a flame was detected, and the beeping alarm prompted a failure. As a primary solution, try to restart the machine 1-2 times by pressing the power button. If it brings no luck, send an email to service@fogatti.com. 

4. Error Code E3

Fault code E3 is an indication of a defective thermostat. The unit will flash this error code when the temperature control connection comes loose. Besides, excessive water temperature can be a caveat. 

For resetting this fault code, check the temperature control connection first. Tighten the connection if it comes loose. 

Next, check the water flow and raise the inlet water flow. Lastly, inspect the high-temperature thermostat for failure and replace it if required. 

5. Error Code E4

When the error code E4 occurs, understand the inlet temperature probe is at fault. You should replace the inlet temperature probe to erase the error code from the controller display. 

Here is the step-by-step procedure you should follow to make the replacement: 

• Pull out the wire terminal of the inlet water temperature probe.
• Use a spanner or pliers to loosen up the inlet water temperature probe and take it out. You should also remove the seal on the part. 
• Install the new inlet temperature probe and use the pliers to tighten it up. 
• Plug in the cable terminals of the inlet temperature probe. 

6. Error Code E5

Fan failure is the explanation of the error code E5. It means no fan signal detected during start-up or water heater operation. This fault code will pop up on the controller display if: 

• There is no fan voltage
• The wind pressure switch gets faulty
• Defective control board

7. Error Code E6

Overheating failure is what the error code E6 resembles. The fault code will pop on the display when the water temperature remains above 176 degrees F for over 3 seconds. 

Reasons responsible for the error code E6 include:

• Too high inlet water temperature
• Too low inlet water flow

To erase this fault code from the display, what you should do:

• Set the temperature to a lower position. If it doesn’t work, check the high-temperature thermostat for failure. Replace the high-temperature thermostat if required.
• Check the inlet water filter for blockage and clean the filter. Then, raise the water flow.
• Reset the unit for 1-2 times.

8. Error Code E7

Main valve failure is the meaning of the fault code E7. I recommend you restart the unit 1-2 times to see whether it can erase the error code or not. Otherwise, you should replace the main valve. As it’s not a DIY task, contact the Fogatti Customer Service at service@fogatti.com. 

9. Error Code E8

When you observe flashing code E8 on the controller display, understand the wind pressure switch is at fault. This code will appear due to: 

• Loose wind pressure switch connection
• Defective wind pressure switch
• The control board is at fault

As a remedy, check the wind pressure switch connection and ensure it’s tight and secure. Next, inspect the wind pressure switch and replace it if required.
